Welcome to My Web Page - I'm Kim
As I sit here at the computer on a rainy Seattle afternoon, dogs at my feet, tea at my elbow, I'm excited to establish a web presence. It's imperative in this day and age of authors to self promote. And if there's one thing I do well, it's self promote. That is not because I am so terribly stricken with my own self but because my former career was that of an actress/singer/performer/self promoter. When you're on stage, you are promoting yourself, big-time.
I teach a workshop called 'Channeling Your Inner Rock Star' that teaches shy writers how to present the absolute best version of themselves when called upon. This one-hour workshop totally rocks with useful info on how to draw upon an inner extrovert to fake confidence. (See? I just self-promoted!)
I am a mother of two, a wife, a dog owner, a good neighbor, the woman at the grocery store with mismatched clothing, spilling her purse in the lineup. I've lived in three countries, taught scuba in Hawaii for years, opened for Jamie Foxx, swam with dolphins in the wild, have a son who is a sponsored athlete, a daughter from Taiwan who is funny as heck (and a straight A student), a husband who survived cancer, have a pitbull who is painfully shy and sweet, work part time at Macy's to afford an editor, teach art at my kids' school, have conversed with Maya Angelou at length, love to read, hate housework etc.
After a career of performing, I've gone back to one of my first loves - Writing. At the time I write this I am a pre-published novelist, on the verge of self pubbing. There are millions of us these days, getting ready to publish on Kindle, Nook and such. I am proud to be part of the sisterhood who love to put words on paper to tell a story. As a reader, I devour a story or two every fortnight so I know there is an ongoing need for new novels.
I'm excited to be able to offer my stories to women readers soon. I'll update this when I'm up and for sale. Writing marketable, readable novels to entertain women is my long-term goal, my retirement plan, my lifeline when things get rough.
I'm in in for the duration.
